Bacsó Kristóf Triad

The Bacsó Kristóf Triad was formed at the end of 2012. The band’s music blends elements of jazz and contemporary composition with a distinctly Eastern European sensibility, where alongside carefully written sections, collective improvisation also plays a central role. Saxophonist and composer Kristóf Bacsó is a defining figure of the contemporary Hungarian jazz scene. Music historian Gergely Fazekas describes their 2025 album as follows: “It is not easy to pinpoint what gives Kristóf Bacsó’s music its magic: the distinctive melodic lines, the sensitive harmonies, the unique shaping of each piece, and, of course, the outstanding performance of the Bacsó Kristóf Triad all contribute to it. For me, however, even more important is how this music can pose an intellectual challenge to the listener - with its complex meters, polyphonic textures, and intriguing chord progressions - while never losing its accessibility. Simply put: Kristóf Bacsó’s music is always a pleasure to listen to.”
