AUDI JAZZ STAGE
The Gabó Acoustic duo was founded in the summer of 2014, and as a mission set itself the goal of sharing the best of black music with the Hungarian audience in a previously unheard form, starting from R&B, through Neo-Soul, to Acid Up to the jazz genre.
The singer of the duo is Gabriella Jónás, Gabó, who became known behind his back with more than 60 contributions in the hip-hop environment. Thus, e.g. Animal Cannibals, Deego (Pilvaker), Mentha (Hősök), Pixa, or Maskurató Maskura. It is now the 8th year that he has been a member of the band Glamorous Company led by Balázs Harót, but he has also sung behind famous Hungarian singers such as Csézy, Nikolas Takats and Fedor Kyra, Ádám Szabó from Ocho Macho, or the star performers of the 50-year Dance Song Festival. In 2021, he appeared with his own project on Petőfi TV's Petőfi Akusztik program.
The other half of the duo is jazz pianist Albert Horváth, who began his studies with jazz pianist Béla Lakatos Szakcsi Jr. Despite his young age, he had the opportunity to play music with renowned performers such as Elemér Balázs, Krisztián Lakatos "Pecek", József Horváth "Pluto", János Egri and Csaba Pusztai. In 2016, the III. I. in the orchestra category of the National Jazz Competition, II. in the solo category. place, in 2018 he received the jazz discoverer of the year award. In 2020, he achieved success as the absolute winner of "Young Jazz Musician of the Year". He is still actively playing music and is the keyboardist of Nemazalány's live band production.
The duo performed at well-known places in Budapest, such as BRKLYN, Raqpart or Szimpla Kert, but also at larger festivals such as XX. Mol Triathlon, the Agárd Hal-Vad festival, or just the Paloznak Jazz Picnic and the Budafoki Champagne Festival stage. The duo appeared several times in TV productions, and in 2021 they were invited to the literary Crossover evening of A38, where they reworked the works of emerging writers and poets of new generation literature. One of the duo's most memorable concerts was performed as the band for the Hungarian concert of Rah Diggah, the only female member of the world-famous Flipmode Squad.
