Caro Emerald’s career began with a demo song called Back it up. A year later, the song was exploded and released on Dutch TV. Her first album featured ballroom jazz, cinematic tangos, groovin’ jazz tracks and infectious mambos that sounded as if they were recorded in the golden age of Hollywood. The album topped the Dutch list for 30 weeks, breaking Michael Jackson’s record. The album has achieved similar success on the international market, with Caro receiving several awards, including the MTV EMA award and the Golden Camera awards.
Her second album, “Shocking Miss Emerald,” suggests not only that Caro is a wonderful singer, but also that she is a sophisticated and timeless style icon that will enchant Jazzpiknik’s audience.
